Day 1: Arrival in Srinagar– Houseboat

Upon arrival at Srinagar, you will be welcomed by Jain Trip and transferred to Houseboat for Check in. Later enjoy Shikara ride on Dal Lake, visiting floating vegetable gardens etc. Evening is free for leisure activities. Overnight stay at Houseboat in Srinagar.

Day 2: Srinagar – Gulmarg (60 Km/2-3 Hrs)

Post breakfast, check-out of the Houseboat at Srinagar & proceed for Gulmarg. Gulmarg is at 2730 mts. above the sea level. Gulmarg has one of the best ski slopes in the world and highest golf course with 18 holes. If weather is clear one can enjoy Gondola cable car ride (Direct payment) upto Khilangmarg. Overnight at Gulmarg.

Day 3: Gulmarg – Pahalgam (150 Km/ 4 Hrs)

After breakfast check out from Gulmarg & proceed to Pahalgam, the Valley of Shepherds via Srinagar. Drive through saffron fields and pine forest along Lidder River; visit Awantipura ruins of an 1100 yr old temple of Lord Vishnu. Pahalgam is also the entry point of the famous Amarnath Cave, a holy site for Hindus. Check in hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight stay in Pahalgam.

Day 4 : Pahalgam Local Sightseeing

After breakfast, excursion trip to Chandanwadi (starting point of Amarnath Yatra) & Betab Valley, located on the way to Chandanwadi. The valley was named Betaab after abollywood movie by the same name! Earlier known as Hajan Valley, after the release of the movie, it was renamed as major part of the movie was shot here. You can also enjoy Pony horse Ride (Direct Payment) here. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 5 : Pahalgam – Srinagar (100  Km/3 Hrs)

After breakfast, check out of the hotel in Pahalgam and proceed for Srinagar. Check in Hotel at Srinagar. Later Srinagar sightseeing covering Shankaracharya Hill temple and the famous Mughal Gardens (Chashme Shahi, Nishat Bagh & Shalimar Bagh). The day is free for shopping on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 6 : Srinagar – Sonmarg – Srinagar

After breakfast proceed for day tour of Sonmarg. It is situated at a height of 2740 meters (82 kms | 3 hours one way). Sonmarg lies in Sindh Valley streamed with flowers and surrounded by mountains. Trout and Mahseer fishing is popular here. Sonmarg is also the base for some interesting treks to the high altitude Himalayan Lakes. By evening drive back to Srinagar, overnight stay in Srinagar.

Day 7 : Departure from Srinagar

After breakfast, Check-out Hotel & transfer to Srinagar airport to board the return flight with Happy Memories !! Due to the extremely strict security measures at the airport during peak season, guests are requested to leave for the airport at least 4 hours prior to departure. We are forced to enforce this rule as there are 4 security barriers to pass before reaching the airport. Also, there are regular traffic jams for a couple of kilometers outside the airport.

The Department of Tourism, J&K is the main developmental, promotional and regulatory arm of the J&K Government. Its main role comprises of:· Overall planning and execution of schemes for the development, up-gradation and improvement of the tourism infrastructure in different parts of the State.

· Support to the private sector industry in the form of incentives for setting up various tourist facilities as well as for promotion and marketing of their products and services.
· Promotion and marketing of various tourist destinations and products of the State.
· Regulation of the travel-trade by enforcement of provisions of J&K Registration of Tourist Trade Act.

The Department of Tourism has Tourist Offices in all the tourist resorts of the State. In addition, there are 6 promotional offices outside the State, one each at New Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kolkata. Also, there is one provincial Director of Tourism each for Jammu and Kashmir Divisions. The Department also has Engineering Division under its control for the implementation and execution of various schemes. For formulating and monitoring the plan schemes, the Department has a Planning Wing and for overall marketing and promotion the Department has a Publicity Wing.

For safeguarding the interests of tourists visiting Jammu and Kashmir, the State has enacted a special legislation titled the “Jammu and Kashmir Registration of Tourist Trade Act, 1978/1982”. Under this act, all the Tourist Officers posted in different resorts have been vested with special powers as Prescribed Authorities to register and regulate the tourist trade in their respective areas of jurisdiction, and to look into complaints from tourists visiting the State, the Department has an Enforcement Wing headed by a Superintendent of Police on deputation from the Police Department who is designated as Deputy Director Tourism (Enforcement). For cases requiring prosecution, written complaint of a tourist is admissible as evidence even if he may have left the State.

The commercial activities in the tourism sector from the Government side are looked after by a public sector corporation know as the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation (J&K TDC). It operates and manages Government accommodation in Tourist Centres at Srinagar and Jammu, and the Tourist Complexes, Hotels, Tourist Bungalows in various resorts. The Corporation also runs a Travel Division, which organizes package tours to various parts of the State and also arranges transport facilities for the tourists. Visit

Other related organizations of the Tourism Department are the Jammu and Kashmir State Cable Car Corporation (J&K CCC) and the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC).

The Cable Car Corporation ( operates a Gondola Lift at Gulmarg. It is also planning to set up similar facilities in different tourist resorts of the State. The Convention Centre ( has Conference facilities of International standards.

As a measure to speed-up infrastructure development in select tourist resorts, Development Authorities, headed by Chief Ex. Officers have been constituted for Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Sonamarg, Yousmarg, Dodpathri, Verinag, Kokernag, Leh, Kargil, Patnitop, Lakhanpur – Sarthal, Aharbal, Wular – Manasbal, Zanskar, Rajouri, Poonch, Bhaderwah, Kishtwar, and Surinsar – Mansar
